Every problem has a spiritual solution. That’s what international bestselling author Wayne Dyer says and I think he’s onto something.

Spiritual solutions come in the form of inspiration.

Some idea of how this works was the subject and message of a recent re-run of the television show, Grey’s Anatomy. The plot centered on a physician with what most of the other doctors regarded as an inoperable brain tumor. The hospital administration ruled against the surgery but the patient found his savior in McDreamy, aka Derek Shepherd, (played by Patrick Dempsey).

Dr Shepherd was extremely worried because there was a significant chance he would get it wrong and if he did his patient would likely die. Despite the problematic odds, his patient was fearless and he counseled his doctor:

“In the face of the impossible, become inspired. When you are inspired there is always a way. So, when you are frightened, become inspired.”

One of the original Greek meanings of the word inspiration is “God breathed,” signifying the idea that all the answers, information and solutions, can be breathed through us by Spirit, the Source of all knowledge. The implication is that once we know how it works, we can consciously seek inspiration in any circumstances.

Usually logical, rational thought, which we require for physical survival but which is the seat of our individuation and separation, needs to be silenced. Thus, inspiration often descends whilst we are in a (day)dream or meditative state, and gentle, rhythmic movement like yoga, walking or swimming are important because they facilitate and promote suspension of the left-brain, or ego mind.

We are One with All Life and thus we can never be cut off from the eternal flow of Divine knowledge and inspiration. As we learn to make choices consonant with the fact of our Oneness, we are more able to consciously tap into the eternal wisdom of the Universe for the solution to all our problems. When we understand the imperative to create and expand through the power of truth and love, the Universe rises to meet us and bestows upon us everything we need and desire for the manifestation of beauty, joy and power in all aspects of our lives.
